OUR MESSAGE TO PROSPECTIVE DONORS.

Realizing our vision of supporting outstanding teenagers in economically challenging situations takes a lot of time, effort, and resources. Hence, we rely on financial contributions from like-minded people who want to enable a generation of future leaders to drive systemic change. As all of our team members, associates, and mentors work on a voluntary basis, we can assure that every Dollar and Euro donated will have a maximized impact

Since each student will be part of the program for five years, monthly donations will play a vital role in securing financing for the years ahead. Nonetheless, we genuinely appreciate contributions of any kind and size.

Please note: To keep processing fees as low as possible and to ensure that your donated amount reaches its intended purpose directly, we kindly ask you to preferably donate via bank transfer (see banking info below).

You may also set up a one-time or recurring donation via PayPal. Please note, however, that the service provider will charge a percentage and a fixed amount of your donation (see FAQs for further info).

  • Why should I preferably donate via bank transfer?
    Most payment providers charge additional fees for their payment solutions. While a bank transfer unfortunately might not be the most convenient option, it ensures that all of the money you donate, directly reaches the participants of our program.
  • What are the processing fees for the different donation options?
    Depending on the payment option you choose, different service charges may affect how much of your donated amount actually reaches our accounts. Bank transfer: No additional fees Wire Transfer: approx. 0.47 % + approx. 4.15 USD for wire transfers (please avoid this payment method for donations below 500 USD) PayPal: 1.90 % +0.35 € per transaction (+ 1.99 % exchange rate in case of non-Euro donations)
  • How can I set up a monthly donation?
    Recurring contributions will play a vital role in securing our financing for the years ahead. If you want to set up a monthly donation, you can preferably do so via bank transfer (no fees apply) or, alternatively, by using the PayPal "Donate"-button provided above. Please consider that processing fees occur for the latter.
  • What will my donations be used for?
    As we still are a young and rather small organization, with team members all working on a voluntary basis, our overhead and administrative expenses are close to zero. We can, therefore, assure you that all but a very small percentage of your donated amount will directly benefit our participants. We will use the money to pay for their tuition in a high quality institution and to provide the educational materials they need for school. Since one of our core values is transparency, we will publish an overview of our finances at the end of each fiscal year, including the respective overhead and administrative costs.
  • Are my donations tax-deductible?
    We are already working at full speed to ensure that donations from most parts of the world will be tax-deductible as soon as possible. Since we are a relatively young and multi-national NGO, this process might take a few more months and will depend on the residence of the respective donor.
  • Why is your NGO registered in Austria but has a Belgian IBAN?
    We contacted and talked to many established financial institutions in Austria and Europe and opted for the one that offered us the lowest fees for handling our transactions. With our current account, we can ensure that donations actually fulfill their intended purposes.
  • Do you prefer single or recurring donations?
    For us as an organization, it is essential to plan ahead and make provisions for the months and years to come. Therefore, we highly appreciate recurring donations, as they facilitate our financial planning. At the end of the day, however, the decision is of course up to you and we appreciate any form of contribution.
  • I set up a monthly contribution, can I cancel/change it?
    Yes. You are of course free to change or cancel your monthly payment at anytime. However, we would highly appreciate, if you informed us of your decision via e-mail (team@bc-ff.org), so we can update our financial plan accordingly.
